The father of a 14-year-old boy killed in a car crash in Co Galway has appealed to teenagers to think of their parents before taking risks with their lives. Joe Joyce spoke out following his son’s death in a single-vehicle accident outside Headford last week.

Joe Joyce, the father of 14-year-old Lukas Joyce, who was killed in a car crash in Co Galway on Monday, has made an emotional appeal to young people not to take risks by driving cars. He told an audience in St Brendan’s Church, Annaghdown, that he and Lukas’s mother no longer felt like parents as a result of the crash which killed his son and 14-year-old Kirsty Bohan. Two other pupils from Presentation College Headford are being treated for multiple injuries in University Hospital Galway.
