The fastest Czech is going to fight for the Olympics. But in a completely different sport!

Vlastimil Vacek, Right

Záleský belonged to the circle of favorites, he collects domestic medals regularly, but now for the first time he has printed for the most valuable. “Already in the run, I ran relatively fast for how much energy I gave it,” he praised himself.

In the final, he soon gained the lead over his racing coach Veleba, Stromšík and Štěpán Hampl. “We are all good at the start, then it’s a little worse. When I saw that I was further ahead, I believed that I would make it to the end, “said Záleský.

Family happiness, then an entry into Czech history! To absolute joy, there was only one missing

Finally, it can be described as currently the fastest Czech. “I was the fastest at the beginning of the season, so I’m glad I confirmed it here as well,” he breathed.

However, the Czech sprinters are far from being nominated for the Tokyo Olympics, and the hopefully developing 4×10-meter relay project did not achieve its dream goal. But Záleský hopes that he will still look at the Olympics. Not just to Tokyo, but half a year later to Beijing.

“Now I’ll start preparing for the beans as soon as possible and I’ll try to get on the team if the relay doesn’t work out,” he said. After all, he was driving in an ice trough four years ago. “And I’ve been in contact with the boys ever since. I really enjoyed the beans, it’s adrenaline and the Olympics are tempting for me, “he admits.

The ideal combination

The combination of athletics and bobsleigh riding is nothing special, the combination of speed and strength is essential for pushing bobsleighs.

In both sports, the American Lauryn Williams has already won Olympic medals, her compatriot Lolo Jones has entered the same combination, the Olympic long-distance winner Greg Rutherford and the European champion in the hundreds, James Dasaolu, are trying to get into the British team.

The flocks are starting to start in Tokyo

After all, Czechoslovakia also has its amphibian, Roman Hrabaň competed in Seoul as a decathlon fighter and four years later in Albertville in bobsled. Záleský also plans to spend the winter by the icebeds and skip the indoor season and return to the track in the summer.

Now he has a clear task ahead of him: to gain muscle. “I have about 80 kilos, I would need at least 88, which will be a fight. At least I can eat well, “he smiles. “And lose weight again in the spring, but a hundred can be run relatively heavily,” he knows.

Not everyone from his athletic surroundings is enthusiastic about Záleský’s plans, but he is clear. “I want to try again. I’m going to Olympus on a simulator next week, “he reports. The competition is great for the bobsledders, but the double bomb was third in the World Cup last season, the double bomb ended in ninth place.

“Áčko is riding in excellent shape, I would start in the second bobsleigh with the pilot Adam Dobeš and I will try to help his team for the Olympics,” he plans.
