Paying homage to elegance, it doesn’t stop to look to the past, but to look to the distant future.This grand show uses 45 models to showcase nearly a hundred special series for the 50th anniversary designed by founder Stefano Ricci, inspired by the mysterious Valley dei Re d’Egitto interprets the maximum elegance of classic luxury and Egyptian modernity.
The great show was performed by the Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, an old friend of Stefano Ricci, in an elegant white dress STEFANO RICCI at the Roman ball “Celeste Aida” from the first act of Verdi’s opera “Aida”. “In the beginning, the models began to descend the grand staircase of the temple and made their way to the catwalk with the 25 giant statues of Queen Hatshepsut as a backdrop. The immersive scenography gave the guests an unprecedented shocking visual feast.
The show began with a series of evening dresses inspired by the celebration of Egyptian civilization, starting with elegant evening gowns in gold, temple inscriptions and Nile blue in golden pharaohs. First there were three sparkling looks, a gorgeous jacket woven with gold threads and paired with black pants. They were followed by jackets and tuxedos with golden buttons in shimmering blue or copper-colored brocade, all woven on looms at the Antico Setificio Fiorentino, the oldest silk workshop in Europe.
Tribute to the close friend of the brand, the former South African president and the famous Nobel Peace Prize winner Nelson Mandela. The “Madiba” series of printed silk shirts designed in the early 1990s bears his name. The intermission performance of the show was performed by Andrea Bocelli and his son Matteo Bocelli on stage, with the Italian-Swedish soprano Suzanne Rigacci singing An episode from Sergio Leone’s Once Upon a Time in the West.
