This religious song which celebrates the birth of Christ among Christians, known worldwide and sung for more than two centuries, has been adopted and translated from German into more than 300 languages and dialects. She crossed the borders from the simple town of Oberndorf, located about twenty kilometers from Salzburg in Austria.
