The Licensing Committee of the Salvadoran Football Federation (FESFUT) provisionally suspended the license of the ‘king of cups’: CD FAS, due to delays in paying salaries to its players and issuing a payment report to the squad.
According to the committee, the club was warned that it had to send a report in the first five days of each month to report the payment of the payroll for the immediately previous month until the Clausura 2024 tournament ended, and to comply with the agreement that was established in January this year, in which both the team and the campus agreed to pay the fees corresponding to the tournament at the end of each month. The sports entity also emphasized that they warned that if they did not comply, their license would be withdrawn.
The federation said that the club sent a letter signed by Rosa Mélida Morán, in her capacity as vice president and legal representative of FAS, via WhatsApp, in which it was reported that to date the transfer of money has not been authorized by of the bank, for having been on vacation period “since it requires time for authorization, given that the payment comes from the United States, therefore they request that they be granted a reasonable time to make said payment and submit the report.”
