The Farmers: Frans and Mariska Bauer’s Real-Life Soap Returning Early Next Year on NPO1

Frans and Mariska Bauer will return early next year with their real-life soap The farmers. A spokesperson for broadcaster AVROTROS confirmed this after reports from TV expert Tina Nijkamp.

“The recordings will start soon,” according to AVROTROS. The new episodes about the life of the Bauer family will be shown on NPO1 early next year. The four children of the 49-year-old singer and his wife Mariska are also participating.

The farmers ran for one season in 2003 and was broadcast on RTL 4. In 2004 the TV show won the Golden Televizier-Ring.

Frans and Mariska Bauer subsequently made programs together, such as The Bauers in Argentina. The couple visited the South American country.

The singer previously said that many people let him know that they would like to see the program back on TV. “I can imagine that too; it was groundbreaking at the time. Something like four million people were watching. You can no longer imagine that,” he said in conversation with LINDA.
