The farm for sale at a price of 76 million euros

An announcement about the sale of a livestock farm has attracted attention online because of its complexity for the 7,000 hectares it owns, another 9,000 it leases and about 700 bison.

A grazing and forage ranch in the western United States of Wyoming, Antlers Ranch near the town of Meeteetse is for sale. The price requested by the owner is 85 million dollars, equivalent to approximately 76 million euros. The farm has 7,000 hectares of own land and over 9,000 hectares of leased land. Bison is a major source of income for the farm.

Antlers Ranch is located 40 miles from Yellowstone National Park and has over 7,000 acres of owned land and over 9,000 acres of leased land. The farm has five different sources of income: bison, hay production, minerals, hunting, fishing and gravel mining, according to the release Agriculture today.

The farm in the western part of the United States is for sale for 85 million dollars, which is equivalent to more than 76 million euros.

Landscapes like in the movies and profit

In the sales announcement, those who want to invest in animal farming are “attracted” by a wonderful description of the area where the farm is located, recalling cerebral films and series with cowboys. The Antlers Ranch area has a lot to offer with over 300 different species of animals, including bison.

According to the named source, in 1997, the owner at the time, Michael May, converted the then occupied farm into a bison farm, animals that require less care compared to cattle, easy and they rarely need food in winter, they stay out on the grass.

Currently, between 650 and 700 bison live at Antlers Ranch and the ranch’s income comes from calf sales that take place in the fall and the farm generates income additional input through organized bison hunting. Currently there is an annual hunting lease with a tenant who is allowed to shoot up to five males per year. This lease also allows for fee fishing. There are two main houses and three cottages on the farm which can be used as accommodation for staff, guests or for rent.

Antlers Ranch harvests hay on over 480 hectares

Another source of income for the farm is hay. The farm produces hay on 486 hectares of land. The hay yield is on average 5 tonnes per hectare and depending on the weather, the farm does one or two harvests per year. In the last few years, the farm has been able to sell one hundred percent of its hay on the market. On the other hand, the hay storage company has an option.
