“The Farm” Drama: Secret Deal, Removed Guard, TV 2 Smuggled in the Girlfriend

“The farm” is well into its eighth week, and recently the TV viewers have seen a darker and darker atmosphere inside the farm, especially between Kathrine Jakobsen (41) and Björk Valnes Atladóttir (28).

Reveals secret deal

The turmoil started in full when Jakobsen, as a large farmer, last week chose Martin Hals Johannessen (24) as the first champion by means of a lottery – a lottery that would later turn out to be “rigged”.

It ended in a real washout during the runner-up election on Sunday.

– For sure

This week, both Jakobsen and Atladóttir have been strongly affected by the incident, and for the time being it seems that the two are a long way from falling apart.

– I felt let down. Now the TV viewers didn’t catch everything that was said during the runner-up election, but a lot of bullshit came out that wasn’t shown on TV, Jakobsen tells Se og Hør.

Removed guard

– So it was even more ampere than what the viewers got to see on TV?

– Yes. A lot of what was said and communicated was completely stupid. I think some people had already decided in advance that they did not want me to do a good job as a big farmer – and therefore tried to do their best to psych me out.

On TV, the mother of five from Alta is clearly affected by what happened during the runner-up election. It goes so far that she flirts with the idea of retiring and just going home.

– How close were you to travel?

– At one point I was absolutely sure. I thought: “I can’t be bothered with this”. Because I felt that they were rooting against me. They wanted to squeeze and psych me out. What the individual said did not match how they behaved.

She continues:

– I really had to go to the thinking box and strongly considered going home. I just wanted to pack my bag, say “let’s talk” – and leave. I brought it up with the production as well, but they wanted me to stay.

Get thin online

The 41-year-old explains that she ended up terribly tired. She felt that she had to lie down and sleep on whether she should stay or not. When she woke up she realized something that made her grit her teeth and continue the fight.

– Yes, I realized that I had promised my daughter Natalie (21) never to retire. And then it turned out like that, she says, before adding that the time that followed did not get any easier because of that.

– It was difficult to relate to certain people. On TV I am portrayed as difficult, but in my head it was just hard to deal with the fact that words and actions did not quite fit together. I needed time to myself, and that was exactly what other people had been better at than me at the time.

Jakobsen doesn’t quite recognize herself in the way she is portrayed.

– I saw one of the episodes last week with my daughter. It was actually okay, because then I could explain to her what had really happened. She thinks it’s great, and tells me that the way I’m portrayed is so far from reality compared to who I am. They cut connections in pain and agony. Half sentences are often taken completely out of context.

– Absolutely wouldn’t

The TV profile admits that she has felt the anger of the viewers after the recent drama on the “Farmen” farm.

– There are many people around the country online with a lack of social competence who comment and throw crap over a low shoe. They just have to roll in. There is someone who writes: “May she burn in hell” everywhere. I’m fine with it actually, but it’s not so much fun for my children when mum gets to drive like this.

Wanted psychological help

Björk Valnes Atladóttir tells Se og Hør that there were weeks at Fredheim farm that were very tough to live in.

– For my part, it started a bit when we slaughtered the calf. It affected me quite a bit, although I was not opposed to slaughter. And I felt completely alone in that. Eventually I felt that Kathrine and Carla (Maria Haringstad, 30, editor’s note) withdrew from me, without me understanding why, she says.

According to Atladóttir, another participant, Maria Sofie Skogvoll Andberg (23), approached her for a chat the day before the heated runner-up election.

– She told me that Kathrine believed that I took advantage of her and was friends with her to become a big farmer. That’s when we agreed to air everything on the thing. At the same time, it was the big farmer’s lottery that kick-started the bad mood, because then there were more people who were dissatisfied. We didn’t know for sure if it was rigged or not and felt we had to confront her.

Men:

– She insisted that it was a draw in an honest way, and she didn’t exactly win sympathy for that. That’s why there were dishes, she believes.

The 28-year-old doesn’t think it’s fun to relive the far from pleasant days and weeks again – now that it’s rolling and going on the screen.

– It is very hard to see it again. I remember that people distanced themselves from me, Maria was one of the only supports I had. And Kathrine had just decided that I was a fake person – a sad stamp to get. People talked, but no one was interested in resolving the conflict. Some days I was so down that I was very tempted to talk to the psychologist, she tells Se og Hør.
