As early as Tuesday, when the Paris Saint-Germain team with their superstars Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappé move into their hotel in Oostkamp and later complete their final training session in the Jan Breydel Stadium, reporters, photographers and cameramen will be out be in Bruges all over the world, or at least look to Bruges.

The Hotel Van der Valk in Oostkamp and the stadium in Bruges are closely guarded by an army of security guards.

At the Champions League game on Wednesday at 9 p.m. in the Jan Breydel Stadium, PSG Messi-Neymar-Mbappé’s magical trio should compete for the very first time. It would be a world premiere that will be in no way inferior to the opening of the Cannes or Venice Film Festival.

Accreditation requests have been received from all over the world, including one from the Fiji Islands, the manager of Club Bruges, Vincent Mannaert, told the press. “We are doing everything we can to make it easier for the international press to travel to Bruges.” An additional car park had to be set up.

As the Flemish daily newspaper “Het Nieuwsblad” reports, the Parisian stars will be accompanied by large security guards when they arrive on Tuesday from the airport to their hotel and on their way to the stadium.

After the name of the hotel in Oostkamp had already leaked, the mayor of the 24,000-inhabitant city near Bruges has already warned football fans that it was almost impossible to get close to the PSG stars.

Jan De Keyser wrote on Facebook: “The hotel will be closed to unauthorized persons during PSG’s stay. There is constant access control at the parking gates. There is no point in going to the hotel to see Messi as the chances are very slim that you will see him there. The control is carried out by an external security service. Our own police officers will be carrying out increased surveillance near the hotel. If too many spectators gather at the outer gates and thus pose a danger to road users, action is required. The team bus is escorted by our police. After the game, the players leave for Paris straight away. “

Now it remains to be seen what the fantastic trio will have to offer in terms of football. World premieres are not always successful. That’s what the players and fans of Club Brugge and Belgian football hope for on Wednesday.
