Scheduled every two years, they could not be held in 2021 due to the health crisis. The Fanfaronnades are making their big comeback in 2022 and taking the opportunity to celebrate a double anniversary: that of the festival, of which it is the 10th edition, and the 20th anniversary of the GrandMachinChose, the brass band that is at its origin.
Rezé promises to be at the party for this long Pentecost weekend: “20 to 25,000 spectators came to the last edition”, recalls Luc Fedon, member of the organizing team. As for the music, “The brass bands come from all over France and there are high level”, promises his colleague Mathias Val.
Release of brass bands, flash-mob, battle and parades
As in 2019, the Transfer site forms the HQ of the Fanfaronnades: it is here, under two tents, that the local brass bands will warm up from 7 p.m. on Friday 3. But the festival does not forget its port of origin, Trentemoult. Saturday between 3 p.m. and 5.30 p.m., the formations invited by the GrandMachinChose will celebrate in the streets of the village for the traditional release of brass bands. At the same time, school brass band concerts will take place at Transfer. Then at 7 p.m., another must: “A big flash-mob will bring together 200 musicians, with a piece that all the brass bands will play at the same time and a choreography to learn on the spot, explains Luc Fedon. Concerts will follow from 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m..
No time to rest on Sunday! From 12:30 p.m., the public is invited to eat to the sound of the transfer fanfares. Then it’s the Chronograph that will host two brass bands for a battle, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. At 5 p.m., the brass bands will parade on the outdoor stage of Transfert to present themselves to the public with their best piece. The concerts will then continue until 11 p.m. “And like every birthday, we plan surprises…”promise the organizers.
