Polish programmer Jonas “ConstructVOD” Osmenda (Jonasz Osmenda) completed work on a technical demo version of the project «Fallout 2 first person shooter»turning the iconic RPG into a first-person action RPG that feels like a mixture of classic parts Destiny and The Elder Scrollsbut keeping the basic mechanics Relapse 2.

In the demo, the player can get a first look at the project, evaluate the combat mechanics and explore Klamath firsthand. Weapons available to the player include fists, a knife, a spear, a machine gun, a gatling laser, and a pulse rifle. Weapons can be tested on enemies or the civilian population of the city.

Many mechanics are not available in the demo. Thus, for example, the player will not be able to talk to the inhabitants of the city or use the Pip-Boy. Also, the general view of the location is not complete. However, the combat system feels quite complete.

Settings deserve special attention: the player can change the game mode (real time or half step), language (Polish, English and Russian), level of violence and quality of display of weapons in hands (high- quality or pixelated). Also, it is impossible not to mention a nice bonus in the form of an HD remake of the game’s introductory video to Louis Armstrong’s song “A Kiss to Build a Dream On”.

You can download the demo here. Don’t forget that this is a first demo and the project may change in the future.

It is worth noting that a similar project called «Fallout: Bakersfield», a first-person shooter set in the Necropolis, one of the locations in the first Fallout game. In addition, since 2013, a project has been under development The way of the electwhose purpose is to transfer Relapse 2 on the engine Fallout: New Vegas.
