Prenowned Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli died today at the age of 83 at his home in his hometown of Florence, Italian media reported. Cavalli has been seriously ill for some time, and in recent days his condition has worsened, writes “Sky TG 24”.
The designer leaves behind six children from three different wives. His youngest child – Giorgio – is a little over a year old. Next to the stylist in the last days of his life, as well as in the last 15 years, was his third partner Sandra Bergman Nilsson. From his first marriage with Silvanella Giannoni Cavalli, he has a son and a daughter – Tommaso and Christiana, and his second wife, Eva Duringer, gave birth to three children – Robert, Rachele and Daniele, adds “TG com 24”.
Cavalli goes down in fashion history as a virtuoso in creating outfits suitable for both red carpets and everyday life. Cavalli was also a great entrepreneur, always adapting to changes in the fashion business.
The designer presented his first collection in 1970 during the ready-to-wear fashion week in Paris. After that, his presence at major fashion forums is constant. In 1972, he opened his first boutique in Saint-Tropez.
He gained worldwide fame with clothes inspired by nature, especially the animal world, and was even designated as the king of fashion in this direction. He is also known for his denim collections, as well as his opulent outfits designed especially for the red carpet at many ceremonies.
Many world-famous models have walked the catwalk for Cavalli, starting with supermodels Naomi Campbell and Cindy Crawford.
Cavalli has always been abreast of the latest in the world of fashion and the changing trends in the fashion business, and the fruit of this is the Just Cavalli brand, launched in the late 90s, under whose imprint men’s and women’s clothes are released, but also and accessories, sunglasses, watches, perfumes, underwear and swimwear.
