On Instagram, artist Rafael Serra imagines the logos of the biggest brands in vintage and reworked versions.

We start the time machine, and we go back several decades. Barely pushed the doors of his Instagram account, with around 100,000 subscribers, than the artist Rafael Serra offers a disconcerting and retro journey. These logos, suddenly encrusted in the depths of our mind, undergo under his brushstrokes, a vintage and frankly astonishing relifting.

Colorful and fascinating logos

Spotify, PlayStation, Apple, Instagram: all the major global brands are revisited for the most part with this retro hue. With colors reminiscent of the universe of the time, less vivid, with a more pronounced grain. The work of forms is also confusing. No more modern deconstruction, Rafael Serra prefers a millimeter and refined geometry. This is how we find its McDonald’s logo closed in a large rectangle, the name of the brand overhanging the golden arches with, next to it, a long series of yellow lines reminiscent of the brand’s fries.

The artist’s work is not only retro, he sometimes devotes himself to more modern approaches, in particular through the use of more techno or pop typography. A wacky mix of genre that testifies to the immense artistic possibility of a single logo.
