KUALA LUMPUR, KOMPAS.TV – Family members of the passengers and crew of the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, gathered to commemorate the 7th anniversary of the plane’s disappearance, Sunday (7/3/2021).
The group, called Voice370, reiterated its demand that the search be continued, and that all military radar data from that day be released for independent investigation.
“We urge the Malaysian government to release all military radar data, from March 7 and 8, even on a non-disclosure basis, for an independent investigation, so that we can dispel all doubts about any aircraft movements, which we are not aware of,” he said. Grace Nathan, one of the families of victims of Malaysia Airlines MH370, was quoted as saying by the Associated Press.
Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 disappeared with 239 people on board on March 8, 2014, while flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
“We cannot use Covid-19 as an excuse to stop. Before we have been through so many governments and so many transport ministers,” said Jacquita Gomes, who is also the victim’s family.
Joint efforts by Australia, China and Malaysia were halted in January 2017 after two years of underwater searches in the southern Indian Ocean. This search is the largest search in aviation history.
Another exploration effort in May 2018, led by US Ocean Infinity, also failed to locate the crash site.
