The Galician Association of Family Medicine denounces that no reinforcements have arrived at primary care in Galicia in this pandemic and ensures that consultations are overwhelmed. They are being developed in a blended format with telephone and face-to-face consultations. He assures that the nursing and administrative groups have not been reinforced either.
The President of the entity, Susana aldecoa, points out that it will be difficult to return to face-to-face consultations in the short term due to the fear of the patients and lack of resources. This summer the pending consultations accumulate, the work related to the Covid and the holidays they have had to take to have all the staff in the fall.
They explain that for years they have been asking for a reinforcement in primary care that does not arrive and is increasingly necessary, in addition, due to the aging of the workforce. The health administration points out that there are currently no more non-health professional doctors available.
