Bad Waldsee (rei) – Franz Spehn, who led the fortunes of Mittelurbach for 15 years as mayor together with his local council and in trusting cooperation with the city administration, was farewelled on Friday, October 11th with a wonderful party in the village community center. A highlight was the film shown by Franz Spehn’s family. With the permission of the film makers and film participants, the screen newspaper “Der Waldseer” is publishing the film here.
Companions, friends, employees in the city and local administration, local councilors, city councilors and of course the family came to the festival. Mayor Matthias Henne honored Spehn’s local political work with words of appreciation and a nice gift and there were a number of contributions, such as those from the “Primelgässler” and Günter Brutscher. Franz Gapp, Spehn’s old music buddy from the “Haderlumpen”, picked up the trumpet and Gerhard Frick said words of thanks on behalf of the Mittelurbach local council. Whereupon the local councilors brought in a respectable bench with a carved Mittelurbach coat of arms.
The screen newspaper “Der Waldseer” goes into detail in words and pictures about the impressive program items, in which Franz Spehn’s love for “his” Königstal appeared again and again.
A highlight was the film shown by the Spehn family. At the request of his family, Franz Spehn drove his vintage Opel “Blitz” up and down the district of Mittelurbach with all the hamlets and residential areas and in dialogue with his daughter Nadine he looked back on the events and results of his time in office.
