Costume designer Irena Greifová, who spent a lot of time in a private nursing home in Malvazinky, has entered artistic heaven, while her husband Josef Laufer (83) has been in an artificial sleep for almost three years in Na Homolce hospital. The family of the deceased Greif has published a part not only with the details of the last farewell, but also with a touching quote composed by Josef Laufer himself.

Costume designer Irena Greifova she died on December 22 at the age of 83. He was her predestined man the actor Josef Lauferwho has been on artificial sleep for several years following heart surgery, during which he suffered cardiac arrest.

Irena Greifová’s health worried her for many years and, as she could not do without help, she was transferred to a private nursing home in Malvazinky. The death of the costume designer was announced in ČTK by her family on Thursday, December 23rd.

A touching quote from Josef Laufer

The family of the deceased Irena Greifová also published the part recorded by the photographer of the eXtra.cz editorial team. The last farewell will take place on Thursday 29 December in the ceremonial hall of the Motol crematorium in Prague. Irena will be fondly remembered by her children and grandchildren, but also by her brother and family.

There is a touching quote in the part, the author of which is none other than Josef Laufer. “A flying stone does not make moss grow.”

About the life of Irena Greifová

Greifová started designing costumes as early as the 1960s. Her projects included second ČSFD costumes for the films Three Veterans, Night on Karlštejn, The Secret of the Castle in the Carpathians, Kerosene Lamps, I’m Announcement Your Love, Porcelain Girls or Worlds. She married Laufer in 1969 and together they have a son Karel and a daughter Ester. It was she who regularly visited her parents. Dad still visits and believes she will come back to life.
