At 41 years old, the presenter of Día a Día received one of the best news that she had been waiting for a long time: she was pregnant for the third time, a door to hope after having suffered a miscarriage at just nine weeks. Her age played against her, the caleña tried in vitro fertilization and after three months her wish was fulfilled. In less than a year, Salvador, her second child, had three different illnesses; Her diagnoses motivated Carolina to create a foundation to support mothers and children in Colombia who do not have the same resources that she had to save the life of her son.
Although her third pregnancy was perfect, and Salvador’s first three months were very healthy; The first diagnosis was received due to an abnormal growth of his head. By noticing the situation and resorting to specialists, his condition could be treated in time. The baby never suffered neurological damage, but at the same time he received two other diagnoses: of 5 children, Salvador had been that 1 who was born with straining and gestational torticollis. Having good insurance, specialist doctors within her reach and reacting in time saved the presenter and her family many tragedies; but the situation is very different for many mothers in Colombia. The main reason for the presenter to start her Salvador de Sueños Foundation, which in addition to bearing the name of her son will serve as support for the high and almost impossible expenses that many mothers in the country must face.
