The fake courier who rings the bell is surprised by the police officer

A 17-year-old boy attempted to defraud a woman in Rijsbergen by posing as a courier. The police caught the boy in the act. He was arrested after a short chase. The scammer is from Amsterdam and is blocked.

A woman from Rijsbergen surrendered herself to the police on Friday. She said she had been called several times by a GGD employee who said an emergency kit could be given to vulnerable people. If the woman wanted such a package, all she had to do was pay her debit card to the courier with her.

After the woman accepted the delivery of such a package, she did not trust completely. She called the GGD and was told that such packages are not delivered by the GGD at all. Then the woman called the police.

The boy is on the run
A local police officer immediately went to the woman’s house to wait for the scammer. “After consuming a series of delicious cups of coffee and the accompanying snacks, the doorbell suddenly rang,” writes the police officer. The 17-year-old boy posing as a parcel carrier was standing in the doorway.

When the police officer showed up, the scammer fled. This was followed by a short chase. The boy was eventually arrested with the help of two other officers. He is still in custody and will be tried on Monday.
