The incessant power cuts and low voltage in almost the entire country this Saturday caused great disgust in the population. The technical manager of the National Electricity Administration (ANDE), Miguel Baez, He maintained that they were able to find because of the problem.
He pointed out that everything originated from a 220 kV line that comes from Villa Hayes to Asunción Botanical Port, the line detached and this caused the protection system to activate, and that this caused the inconveniences. He maintained that he indicated that everything happened automatically and the cuts were given in a chain.
He explained that when the protection system is activated, a piece of equipment installed in the Villa Hayes station would have to come into operation to open other switches and thus partially correct the problem. However, it was what caused the inconvenience.
Báez explained that when this equipment failed, the entire electrical system began to have low voltage, which is why the protection systems of the other lines began to activate. “The shutdown of the 500 kV line from Ayolas to Villa Hayes was a consequence of all this problem. At first, we believed that the problem came from there,” said the senior official.
«The reason that led us to the chain effect was the problem on the Puerto Botánico line to Parque Caballero. At first we thought that the out of service of the 500Kv line from Ayolas to Villa Hayes was the problem but it was not like that”, Eng. Miguel Báez#LaLupaPy #TelefuturoPy pic.twitter.com/hRpADOQzS9
