A will to move forward
“The brewery was really where there was the river… And now there is nothing left,” says Benoit Langlois, county brewer. The heartbreak is enormous for all who have been affected. But very quickly, once the shock has been received, it is a desire to move forward that drives them.
The employees are determined to get back on track. The colleagues, ready to share their premises. And it is the entire region’s brewing community that is mobilizing to save the County Brewery.
Instead of terminating its activities, it can then launch at the end of six weeks (only!) After its destruction two new organic beers, one blonde, the other amber. Their name? La Mounta Cala. A true symbol of resistance and solidarity.
Reborn with a new range of beer
Mounta Cala in Nice, it means goes up and down. In tribute to the whole team who made so many trips back and forth between Saint-Martin-Vésubie and the coast, so that the brewery can continue to exist.
Since mid-December, customer distribution has indeed resumed… Pending reconstruction in Saint-Martin-Vésubie! Because this is the idea of the founders: to return to the sources, even better than before.
This new range is the symbol of all the resilience shown by these brewers, and more generally all those affected by the storm.
