The Speaker of the National Assembly Nikola Minchev convenes an extraordinary sitting of the Parliament on December 13, 2021 at 1 pm, the press center of the institution announced.
It is at the request of MPs. The approved agenda consists of three items:
- election of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria
- adoption of a structure of the Council of Ministers
- election of the Council of Ministers.
Deputies from the largest political force “We continued the change” started collecting signatures for convening an extraordinary meeting on Friday after the signing of the coalition agreement between the four parties that plan to rule together – “We continue the change”, BSP, “There are such people “and” Democratic Bulgaria “.
In order for the future cabinet to be approved, 50% + 1 of the MPs present in the hall will have to have voted for it. The newly formed coalition has 134 deputies.
Yesterday, the leader of “We continue to change” Kiril Petkov, who was nominated for future prime minister, received an investigative mandate from President Rumen Radev to form a government and immediately returned it fulfilled. The draft cabinet will have five deputy prime ministers and 19 ministries. The first goals are to control the growth of electricity prices and the coronary crisis, and the main priorities are the fight against corruption and judicial reform.
