On behalf of the Externadist community, the rector of this House of Knowledge, Hernando Parra Nieto, sent a simple but sincere message of recognition and congratulations to Dr. Ana Isabel Gómez, who was elected as the new President of the Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora Rosy.
“Aware of your recent election as rector, on behalf of the Externado University in Colombia and on my own behalf, I congratulate you on this important event. “With this being the case, I have every confidence that his management in the aforementioned situation will be improved for the benefit of his university and the education of the country.”
And adding to the letter: “This Research House will be ready to continue strengthening the centuries-old ties that unite the University of Rosario and the Externado de Colombia, for which I express my best wishes for the success of your management.”the message specifies.
About Ana Isabel Gómez Córdoba.
She is a surgeon with specialties in pediatrics, public health management and medical health law from the Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario. Master in Bioethics from the University of El Bosque, with a Laureate thesis. Doctor of Legal Sciences from the Pontifical University of Javeriana, with Honorable Mention in the Summa Cum Laude degree, Summa Cum Laude degree with honors and the Javeriano Order of Merit. Since 2004 she has been a Professor at the Universidad del Rosario in the School of Medicine and Health Sciences and in the Faculty of Law. He was the head of the Department of Clinical Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine 2003 to 2006, Director of the medicine program from 2006 to 2015, Vice Dean from 2015 to 2018 and then, Academic Vice Dean from 2020 to January 2024.
Currently, she is co-director of the specialization in medical health law and the Master’s Degree in Biolaw and Biology in the Faculty of Law and EMCS of the Universidad del Rosario. He is a member of the EMCS educational research group in the Bioethics and Biolaw line. Finally, in his extension activities he actively supports the Constitutional Court, the Ministry of Health and the Congress of the Republic in the legal, legislative and regulatory development of issues related to Biolaw and is a founding member of the Medical College of the Solicitors in medical law. .
The inauguration ceremony of the new Rector will be held on October 24 in the Aula Máxima of Clavis.
