The extended nursery Dunakeszin – Dunakanyar Region also welcomes children with special needs

During an open family day, children, parents and nannies could take possession of the new wing of the Napsugár Bölcsőde. The municipality doubled the facility handed over in 2019 with four group rooms and 56 beds. The development received EU and government support. Thanks to the expansion, the nursery also offers families a new service that fills the gap: they also provide care and accommodation for children with special educational needs that can be integrated.

Another development has ended in Dunakeszin, the municipality has doubled the size and capacity of Napsugár Bólcsőde. The institution, originally built in 2019 with 4 group rooms and 56 beds, will accommodate 112 children with 4 more group rooms from September 1. In Dunakeszin, with this investment, 322 young children can now be accommodated and cared for in the city nurseries.

“Since 2010, we have almost tripled the number of nursery places in Dunakesz, this is a 250% increase in nursery places in 12 years. Today, it is essential for a well-functioning settlement to provide a place in its institutions for all children living there. We achieved this in Dunakesz. After quantity, quality is now the next level,” said Mayor Csaba Dióssi. As he explained, the current expansion makes it possible to provide care in Dunakesz for preschools with special educational needs after the school and kindergarten age groups. “Because what is important to the parents is also important to us,” he emphasized.

The expansion of the Napsugár Kindergarten was realized within the framework of the Széchenyi 2020 program, in addition to a non-refundable grant of almost HUF 880 million, and HUF 160 million of the local government’s own resources. Its goal is to further improve the basic social care conditions of the settlement, equal opportunities, and the chances of parents with young children returning to the labor market. Dunakeszin already has 4 municipally maintained crèches, making everyday life easier for many families with young children.

Dr. Bence Tuzson, the Minister of Justice and the region’s local government representative in the Parliament, also participated in the unusual project handover ceremony, which was combined with the open family day. As he said, every parent’s most treasured treasure is their child. “Nursery is the first stop in a family’s life when they have to let go of the youngest. Here, in Dunakeszin, the excellent professional background, the friendly and competent childcare workers, and the established conditions all help parents to know that their child is in the right place and in good hands,” emphasized the father of five in his speech.
