The export of Bulgarian companies with Lidl increased by 11.6% in the first half of 2024. – 2024-08-08 13:30:45

Over BGN 47 million is the export realized by Bulgarian manufacturers in Lidl’s European trade network for the period January-June 2024. The export turnover marked an increase of 11.6% compared to the same period last year.

In the first half of 2024, together with Lidl, a total of 36 Bulgarian companies exported their products to 27 countries. The largest turnover is realized with our neighbors – Romania with 16.2 million BGN, followed by Greece with a turnover of 12.7 million BGN. In third place is Germany, where exports reach 4.7 million BGN. , followed by our western neighbor Serbia with BGN 3.1 million.

The growing export turnover of our Bulgarian suppliers is proof of the good cooperation and successful partnerships that we are constantly and purposefully building. Products manufactured in our country meet all international quality standards and meet the expectations of more and more consumers abroad. This year, for the first time, we realized a more serious export of Bulgarian fruits and vegetables, and this makes us very happy, as we hope that this positive trend will be maintained. Thanks to Lidl, Bulgarian fruits and vegetables usually find a market in countries such as Greece, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Lithuania and Latvia. For the first six months of the year, fruit and vegetable exports have doubled in turnover, with raspberries, eggplant, watermelon, cherries, zucchini, plums and cucumbers among the exported products.

The distribution of the highest turnover suppliers and the corresponding most preferred export products remained stable compared to the same period last year. The producer of bread and bakery products Heber EAD has the highest export for the first half of 2024 in the amount of BGN 9.4 million, followed by Klas Olio EAD (sunflower oil) with a realized turnover for the same period of 8, BGN 6 million. Among the largest Bulgarian export suppliers in Lidl’s European sales network are Nuchelt AD (production of rice biscuits and chips) with a turnover of BGN 5.5 million and Bella Bulgaria AD with exports of BGN 5. Among the most exported products for the first half of this year are a number of dairy products such as buffalo and sheep yogurt, ayran, grilled cheese, cream cheese, sheep and buffalo cheese, as well as some oriental type of cheeses – Topika, Burmala and Chechil, which is accepted especially well in the German market.

With good results for the first half of the year and serious chances of increasing export volumes, Tims Foods Ltd. Under its own brand, the company exports kozunak and buns, and this year it also started exporting hamburger buns under Lidl’s own brand to Croatia and Serbia. Hamburger buns will be exported to Romania as well.

Lidl’s own brands are well known to consumers in other European countries and for this reason are a successful tool through which Bulgarian manufacturers, partners of Lidl, easily reach new markets and receive many times greater opportunities for the sale of their products.
