2021 will be a year to be forgotten for América TV, which, in addition to being fourth in the year’s rating, surpassed by El Nueve, lost several of its figures and its historic programming manager, in addition to being involved in the midst of controversies and various scandals. But, despite having turned the page, the bad news continues for the signal that continues to add distances, such as that of Jey Mammón -who will go to Telefé-, who could be joined by Rodrigo Lussich and Adrián Pallares, tempted to move to El Thirteen.
The signal’s hardest blow was in April with the unfortunate death of one of its main stars: Mauro Viale. The journalist died of consequences derived from the coronavirus and left empty not only his space in America but also in A24, of the same group. Viale was one of the channel’s benchmarks and one of the most difficult figures to replace.
In April, his other iconic figure, Jorge Rial, began at full speed a new bet on the screen where he had conducted, for twenty years, perhaps the greatest success of the signal: “Intruders in the show”. However, the public turned their back on his proposal for political news and other herbs and “TV Nostra”, as it was called, lasted less than a month. The end of the program also meant the departure of Rial from “his home”, as he had defined the channel, an exit that occurred through the small door and between Chicanas on the part of the journalist who turned to the radio again.
Another who left the channel, to face new professional challenges away from the media, was Fabián Doman. The journalist was in charge of “Intratables” and stepped aside in July to assume a communication position at Edenor in which he did not last long, because, weeks ago, he announced his resignation to dedicate his full time to a new project: his intention to win the presidency in Independiente.
In mid-December another who announced his departure was Luis Novaresio. After a decade of work in the group, between América, A24 and La Red, the journalist decided to disassociate himself.

Before Novaresio, there was Liliana Parodi, the historical programming manager of America for the last 30 years. An exit that took place in the framework of the scandal with Antonio Laje, another of the great figures of the signal, and who was denounced by several of his former colleagues for different situations of labor abuse. Although when asked about the reasons for his departure, he said that Laje “had nothing to do with it,” it was Jorge Rial who put gasoline on the fire with just one word: “It fell.”
Weeks ago, the journalist had caused a great deal of insult and criticism on the networks by mocking the departure of Novaresio and the possible departure of Fantino. After publishing a link with a note that made mention of this version, he ironic: “The last one to turn off the light. Anyway, Edenor is not going to charge them ”, he wrote in a clear nod to the purchase of the company by Daniel Vila, José Luis Manzano and Mauricio Filiberti.
And with a new year, and with 360 opportunities to try to reverse the bad drink of last season, America is again suffering another blow. Although the rumor has been running for a long time, yesterday it was confirmed that Jey Mammón will move to Telefé.
Mammon timidly accomplished something unexpected. With his late show, which after Rial’s departure was changed from time to time, the young comedian managed to become one of the channel’s most viewed productions, with a renovating proposal, without vices, which combined guests and unstructured interviews, as well as praised musical segments.
The comedian said goodbye to the channel at the end of December, although without mentioning what the future would bring him, a future that began to be revealed yesterday, while his move to the leading signal was confirmed.
It was the channel of the balls that, through its social networks, shared an institutional video about the figures that will be part of this 2022 among which is Jey, who, after receiving the welcome in the official networks of the signal, He assured: “Thank you very much. Happy to be a part !!! Here we go ”wrote the creator of the popular character Estelita.
It will not, however, be his first foray into Telefé, where he had been part of productions such as “La Pelu”, “Tu Cara me Suena” and “La Nave de Marley”; but it will undoubtedly be one of the most important considering the great year that has just ended in the workplace in America. It is still unknown if it will take its night show or if it will disembark with some other format.
And as if all these losses weren’t enough for the multicolored cube signal, there could be more. The rumor is growing stronger that the current hosts of “Intrusos”, Adrián Pallares and Rodrigo Lussich, would move to El Trece, which would have called them to head a morning show to replace “Los Angeles de la Mañana”. Although the journalists did not mention this version, and a new season of the chimentero cycle has just begun, it was Marina Calabró who confirmed that the pass is a fact and that America is looking, against the clock, a replacement for this successful duo.
