The exhibition of photographs in the Patio of the contemporary art center of Salamanca, DA2, and on the facade of the Liceo Theater is extended until August 30. These were the places chosen by the City Council to show a selection of fifty images taken from the balconies and windows of our city during the months of confinement. An initiative of PHotoESPAÑA, under the title of # PHEdesdemibalcón, to which Salamanca joined.
The objective of this call was to invite citizens to express themselves through photography with images taken from their balconies and windows, as a collective exercise in a situation as exceptional as the one we were experiencing. It is also a way to pay tribute to all citizens for their effort and commitment in those moments when the most important thing was to stay at home.
This call, in addition, made them a source of inspiration and the framework from which to test the photographic creativity of the participants. An opportunity to deepen our way of looking, rediscovering our environment, our neighbors and even ourselves.
The people of Salamanca participated with 264 photographs, of which the jury appointed by PHotoESPAÑA selected fifty that can be seen, until August 30, in these two emblematic spaces of our city, the DA2 and the Liceo Theater, two places closely linked to our culture.
More than 63,000 images
In this festival, promoted by PHotoESPAÑA, some fifty cities have participated and more than 63,000 images have been received, of which 2,450 photographs have been selected that will be exhibited on balconies and windows of the participating cities.
In addition to the Salamanca City Council, Albacete, Girona, Cuenca, Madrid, Valladolid, Santander, A Coruña, Alcobendas, Alcalá de Henares, Segovia, Badajoz, Seville, Barcelona, Córdoba, Logroño, Oviedo, Vitoria, La Laguna have participated in this call. , Las Palmas, León, Soria, Zaragoza, Castellón, Elche, Gijón, Granada, Jaén, Melilla, Pamplona, Teruel, Toledo, Vigo, Alicante, Cáceres, Getafe, Guadalajara, Hospitalet, Zamora, Burgos, Cartagena, Coslada, Ibiza, Muxía, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Torrevieja, Valencia and Hervás.
