April 22 is designated by the world as International Earth Day. On this occasion, the exhibition “Nature and Culture: Faces of Ukrainian Identity” was opened in the premises of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
“The project reveals the historical connection of Ukrainians with nature and its value through the prism of culture. It provides insight into the role of ecosystems and nature-friendly recovery of Ukraine, emphasizing the weight of environmental losses caused by the war. Science, folklore and art are closely intertwined in the exhibition. And the basis of the exposition was the photos of iconic exhibits from the collection of the National Center of Folk Culture “Ivan Honchar Museum” and the artistic works of the illustrator Anastasia Starko,” the organizers of the exhibition say.
14 works of art are presented at the exhibition. These are works of folk art, combined with scientific facts about the importance of the nature of Ukraine. Next to them are stories that tell about the impact of war on the environment. The purpose of the exhibition is to show the value of ecosystems. And also to demonstrate the losses that the war caused to the environment. And the main thing is to support the project to restore the nature of Ukraine. The project will be presented in public space later.
