The price of the US dollar in Lebanon in black market transactions, against the Lebanese pound today, Friday 9-12-2022, reached the level of 42,700 pounds for buying and 42,500 pounds for selling, after being at the level yesterday of £42,050 for the purchase and £41,850 for the sale against the US dollar.
The price of the dollar today in the banking sector
The price of the dollar, through an exchange platform against the pound, stabilized at 30,300 Lebanese pounds per dollar, according to the exchange rates of the operations carried out by banks and exchange institutions on the platform.
The price of the dollar today in the Bank of Lebanon
The Central Bank of Lebanon announced that the exchange rate of withdrawals from dollar deposits into Lebanese pounds has reached 8,000 pounds to the dollar.
The exchange rate of the euro against the dollar today in Lebanon
The exchange rate of the euro in Lebanon, in black market transactions, against the Lebanese pound today, Friday 9-12-2022, reached the level of 1,595.91 Lebanese pounds, while the exchange rate of the euro against the dollar today in Lebanon it reached 1.0557 US dollars.
The reason for the decline of the Lebanese pound against the dollar
The Lebanese pound has started to decline gradually since 2019 against the US dollar, coinciding with an acute liquidity crisis and banks have stopped providing depositors with their dollar money, while the official exchange rate is still pegged at 1507 pounds.
