In a rare interview Elena Voichenko noted that the public, which follows her ex-husband, considers her a “kept woman.” This greatly outrages her, because all these years before and after the divorce, she worked.
The woman said that she has been officially working since 2007. She is a teacher-philologist by education. Until 2010 she worked at the university, where she gained invaluable experience. Despite the fact that she really liked her place of work, she was forced to change her position due to low salaries.
Having moved to Kiev, Elena entered graduate school and began writing her Ph.D. and at the same time working on one of the Ukrainian channels as a translator. Later she switched to another channel, where she still works. After the divorce, in February 2020, Voichenko got a job in an international company and received the position of head of the translation and proofreading department, since she had more financial obligations.
