A 22-year-old man was brought before the Caen prosecutor’s office on Monday, which requested his indictment for the assassination in Alençon of his ex-partner, a 21-year-old hairdresser apprentice, according to the prosecution.
The prosecution “requested his indictment for assassination and his placement in pre-trial detention,” said the prosecutor of the Republic of Caen Amélie Cladière at midday. The young man was then waiting to go before the examining magistrate who will say whether or not he follows the requisitions of the prosecution.

“The scene was very violent. There was use of a hammer and a knife, ”said Ms. Cladière. An autopsy of the victim’s body is to be performed on Monday.
The almost unknown suspect to the police
The suspect, who admitted to the facts, claimed he was intoxicated when he committed them. “This is his version,” said Ms. Cladière.
According to the first elements of the investigation, the suspect had already been violent with the victim but “it will be to be confirmed”, added the magistrate.
He was hardly known to the police, apart from a few incidents during his minority, according to the prosecution.
The body of the young woman was discovered Friday at her home in Alençon.
