The first game as Águilas took place on September 20, 1982 against the Coyotes de Neza, in Ciudad Netzahualcóyotl. Curiously, the 1983-84 season was when the first title fell in Coapa under the new nickname and it was against Chivas in that final that they will never forget in Guadalajara. That decade was totally azulcrema in finals where América beat Cruz Azul, Pumas and most of its rivals.

‘The Eagles’ were born flying high. It only approaches the ground to hunt its prey. This is how America evolved and left the canaries behind, even its own colors to achieve an evolution that not even Pokémon has.
