The Perugia police have arrested a 17-year-old held responsible for the murder of Salvatore Postiglione, an employee of a construction company. The 57-year-old man was found dying in the car park of the industrial area of ​​Foligno with numerous stab wounds on his body on 7 November. The man died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

The clothes used for the crime and the shoes still soaked in blood. This is what the Perugia Flying Squad police officers seized from the home of the 17-year-old arrested for the murder. During the search carried out in the late evening of 9 November in the minor’s home, a scooter used to go to the crime scene and to subsequently return to his home was also seized.

The arrest was carried out by the Perugia Police on the basis of investigative investigations carried out on behalf of the prosecutor of the Juvenile Court of Umbria, Flaminio Monteleone, who gathered serious indications of crime against the minor, resident in Foligno. The murder took place shortly after 6am on November 7th in Foligno in via Louviere, a place that is the usual meeting place for the company’s workers before reaching the construction sites of Perugia and Nocera Umbra. The prosecutor of the Juvenile Court of Umbria issued a decree against the 17-year-old to arrest the suspect for the crimes of voluntary homicide aggravated by premeditation and unjustified possession and possession of objects capable of offending.

The investigations

The investigations, also of a technical nature, carried out by the Perugia Flying Squad and the Foligno Police Station, made it possible to gather serious circumstantial evidence against the minor. In particular, thanks to the images acquired by the cameras, the investigators ascertained that the perpetrator of the crime lurked near the place where the attack on the victim occurred and then, upon his arrival, carried out the crime. Subsequently, the young man’s escape route was reconstructed up to Piazza Ubaldi in the historic center of Foligno, about 2 km from the crime scene, where the suspect disappeared. The investigations on the residents of the area allowed us to focus on the suspect whose physical features corresponded perfectly to those of the attacker, with his face covered.

The minor worked at the same construction company until last October. Further investigations are underway regarding the motive behind the murder, however linked to the work environment.
