The EVGA RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 become even more powerful

EVGA posted a new one BIOS beta which carries the Power Limit a 500W for EVGA graphics cards GeForce RTX 3080 FTW e GeForce RTX 3090 FTW. Before this new BIOS, the limit was set at 450W. This increase will allow better results when overclocking of the two powerful GPUs.

According to EVGA, the new BIOS is only recommended for those looking to perform an extreme overclock, as no other changes have been made besides raising the Power Limit.

Several members of the forum EVGA have already installed the BIOS and were impressed with the results. In particular, one of them posted a screenshot a Power Target del 119%.

The beta BIOS for the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 FTW GPUs can be downloaded from the links below. There are two separate files, one for when the BIOS switch is in the normal position and the other for when it is in the OC position.

Keep in mind that you need to flash your BIOS with caution, as if you are not familiar with the process, you may eventually make your drive a useless, and expensive, paperweight (although it could be recovered using a second card).

Finally, while a beta BIOS is available for GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 (10G-P5-3895-KR), GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA (10G-P5-3897-KR) and GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3 ULTRA (24G-P5 -3987- KR), one has not currently been supplied for the GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3 (24G-P5-3985-KR).

Regarding the new Ampere generation from NVIDIA, today we also reported the results of the early benchmarks performed in Geekbench with the now imminent GeForce RTX 3070, highlighting slightly higher performance than the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, top of the range GPU of the previous Turing series.

If you’re looking for a good power supply for your setup, you’ll find the EVGA Supernova 850GS on Amazon at an attractive price.
