The Everlasting Success of Terraria: Still Selling Like Hot Cakes After 12 Years

Terraria is a true phenomenon in the indie games category. The work of the Re-Logic studio was released 12 years ago, and, nevertheless, it is still very popular among the players. This was acknowledged by Andrew “Redigit” Spinks, who, when asked by a Twitter user if the game had already reached its peak sales, replied that it was still “selling like hot cakes”. At the same time, he added that such a high level of interest in products does not allow to stop supporting them.

After 12 years, the game is still selling like hot cakes. The demand for it is so great that it is difficult to move on.

If anyone doubts the sincerity of Redigit’s words, take a look at the game’s popularity charts. From the data published on SteamDB, we learn that at its peak, almost 40,000 users of the Valve platform play Terraria almost every day. Yesterday (i.e. June 30th) there were as many as 47,375 players playing it.

These results are sure to get even higher when the developers release the long-awaited update for Terraria. Recall that in patch 1.4.5, a crossover with Dead Cells will be presented. The update should be sort of the culmination of the game’s development, but given the words of the developer above, it’s possible that Re-Logic hasn’t yet had its last word on how to further support the original.

It is also worth mentioning that there are rumors that the developers are working on the next part of Terraria. Unfortunately, this information has not been officially confirmed by them. Recently, Redigit mentioned on Twitter that he himself has three different game ideas that he would like to bring to life.
