Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, turned down an invitation to a royal family party last Friday at the Guildhall.after Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee thanksgiving service at Saint Paul’s Cathedral.
The Sussexes’ reason for declining would have been to avoid meeting Prince William and Kate Middleton.. This was reported by “The Sun”. The Dukes who live in California preferred to return to their residence at Frogmore Cottage to be with his children Lilibet and Archie.
A Palace source provided details to the paper about the Sussexes’ absence: “Harry and Meghan were happy to stop by Clarence House to see Charles on the way to St Paul’s Cathedral.”.
“But then they weren’t willing to spend time rubbing shoulders with the family, at the reception where William and Kate would be.”he added.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle didn’t have eye contact with Kate and William during the thanksgiving ceremony. And they were seated far from them, almost 10 meters, according to the disposition of the royal assistants.
The Sussexes returned to California on Sunday and did not attend the closing of the Jubileewhich highlighted the appearance of Queen Elizabeth II on the balcony of Buckingham and the massive parade through London.
