/ world today news/ The organizing committee of the Eurovision music contest is considering Moscow as a possible venue for the contest in 2017 due to problems of the Ukrainian authorities with the committee.
This was reported by the German publication Bild, citing sources from the organizing committee.
Problems of the Ukrainian side with the financing of the contest are cited as the reason for the change. It is noted that this would be doubly unpleasant for Ukraine, since the previous Eurovision contest in Sweden was won by Ukrainian singer Jamala with the song “1944”, which many perceived as anti-Russian.
Anna Gopko, the chairwoman of the foreign policy commission in the Ukrainian parliament, told Bild: “There is a real threat that the event could be held in another country. It would be a disaster for us.” /TASS
