The Eurovision finals take place without Czech participation

In the finals of the competitions Cyprus, Albania, Israel, Belgium, Russia, Malta, Portugal, Serbia, Great Britain, Greece, Switzerland, Iceland, Spain, Moldova, Germany, Finland, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Ukraine, France, Azerbaijan, Norway, the Netherlands, Italy, Sweden and San Marino.

The Czech representative Ben Cristovao performed the song Omaga in the semifinals, which was created in collaboration with producer Filip Vlček, and did not impress the audience. The costume by the designer Jiří Kalfař, in which the Preciosa glassworks took part and only the jacket was created over 260 hours, did not help either. It is hand-planted with more than one hundred thousand crystals forming a kaleidoscopic pattern.

Jan Maxián commented on the semifinals, commenting on the finals with Albert Černý, who sang at the Eurovision Song Contest with Lake Malawi two years ago.

The Eurovison Song Contest has been held since 1956. In 2020, one year was dropped due to a pandemic. It is also attended by countries that are not entirely European (Turkey, Israel), but are members of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). There were two semifinals, each of which was advanced by ten countries participating in the grand final together with the host country and the big five (France, Italy, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom).

Individual countries nominate their performers and during the finals, viewers vote on them by telephone, but may not vote for their own country. The most famous winner of Eurovision is still the Swedish group ABBA, which won in 1974. The vast majority of winners will be forgotten after the end of Eurovision.
