European Union (EU) member states on Wednesday agreed to open the block to people who can prove they have completed the vaccination process using the EU-approved Covid-19 vaccine.

Diplomats also agreed to raise the new Covid-19 case bar, which the country must exceed before it can be declared unsafe. This means that the number of countries allowed to enter the EU will increase.
EU ministers are expected to approve the new rules on Friday.
It is currently banned from entering the EU for unimportant reasons, except from some countries that are recognized as safe.
In the meantime, restrictions in the fight against the pandemic are being phased out in Europe, and businesses, bars, restaurants and hotels are reopening.
The new rules will still prevent unvaccinated people from most countries from entering the EU, but could, for example, allow entry from the UK, which is successfully running its own vaccination campaign.
