In recent decades, Mars has been seen as the next frontier for humanity in terms of space exploration and travel.
Astronomers and space enthusiasts have focused on Mars more than any other planet in our solar system, hoping to find signs of life and learn more about the history of the universe.
Mars exploration program
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has been exploring Mars and sending explorers there for nearly 30 years as part of the Mars Exploration Program.
He found evidence that it used to have a similar environment to Earth, given the water and now-depleted atmosphere that could sustain life.
This is to study the geological and climatic characteristics of the red planet.
Mars contains signs of remnants of the past because it has also been impacted by asteroids, meteorites or comets for billions of years.
In fact, the European Space Agency (ESA) recently found signs of an ancient space object impacting the planet’s never-before-seen craters.
The discovery of unknown crater marks caused by prehistoric impacts could help astronomers understand the history of Mars, in terms of its location since the formation of the Sun and our other neighboring planets 4.6 billion years ago. Unknown Crater
Prior to its discovery, a large crater in the Onia Terra region of Mars was unknown until the European Space Agency took pictures of the crater on April 25 with the Mars Express space exploration mission. The crater is 30 kilometers wide, and is located in the southern hemisphere of the planet.
The new image leads to several theories about the formation of the origin of the eye-like basin. In addition to the possible asteroid impact, the European Space Agency has hypothesized that the area was once a landscape composed of water-carrying channels on Mars some 3.5 to 4 billion years ago.
Although there are other craters on the planet, the one in question can be found in the Tantalus Fossae region where there is a cluster of long valleys called “grabens”. This area lies on the east side of Alba Patera where the fault collision caused the rock to crack, according to NASA.

The alien community is still deciding whether Mars harbored ancient life and a favorable environment for living things.
NASA’s Perseverance spacecraft is just one of many manifestations of space technology currently assessing whether the Red Planet can sustain life, according to a study published in January 2017, as cited by Space.com. Study theory suggests that Mars may contain oceans in the planet’s northern hemisphere.
