The European Commission has announced a decision to ban its employees from using the TikTok application, Politico reported.
This decision comes after a long discussion on the subject. Many European representatives believe that the app is being used to collect information about European citizens.
All employees have been ordered to remove the app from their work phones. They can only use it on their personal phones.
The condition is that there are no programs related to their professional activity. The Council of the EU and the European Parliament are likely to follow suit.
The EP will need a longer period to introduce such a solution. A similar ban was introduced by the US administration.
It is also being considered in the Netherlands for its staff.
