The European Commission rejected the request for a subsidy of 6,140 euros for the purchase of an electric car in Bulgaria, which was included in the plans of the Operational Program “Environment”, thus making the purchase of electric cars in our country much more difficult.
It will be recalled that subsidies for the purchase of electric cars are given in almost every European country, and the idea is to renew the fleet and make the vehicles themselves more environmentally friendly.
What is not known from the mass public in our country, however, is that these subsidies (which vary and in some countries reach 9,000 euros) are not given by the European Union, but come from the state itself.
