The EU will train 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers

The plan must be formally approved by EU countries before it can be implemented.

Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala says he welcomes plans for a training mission for Ukrainian forces, but doesn’t want to give a concrete number on how many soldiers might be involved. The Czech Republic currently holds the EU presidency.

German media writes that Ukrainian soldiers will receive training in Germany and Poland, but that courses are also planned in other EU countries.
