BRUSSELS – European Council President Charles Michel said the impact of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine was harsher European Union (EU) from hours United States of America (HOW).

According to Michel, security ties between Brussels and Washington have strengthened since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, in which the West supported Kiev.

“There is unprecedented coordination in the war in Ukraine,” he said in an interview with Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera on Saturday.

Yet it seems the same could not be said of economic cooperation, with the head of the European Council stressing that the impact of the Ukraine-Russia conflict in the United States is not the same as in Europe.

“Things are easier for America because it is an exporter of energy resources and benefits from rising gas and oil prices, while the EU has to pay a heavy price,” he said.

“We are at risk of an economic recession,” added the leader of the bloc.

“European industry is paying more for energy and is facing competition from American industry,” Michel explained as quoted by Russia TodaySunday (4/12/2022).

The president of the European Council was also asked if he felt “betrayed” by the Reducing Inflation Act, passed by President Joe Biden’s administration, which offered huge subsidies and tax breaks for green businesses.

Brussels has expressed concern that the regime could attract European companies to America due to much lower energy prices.
