The co-founder of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), George Simion, made statements, on Monday morning, at the Chamber of Deputies, on the subject of the green certificate.
He gave “guarantees” that the green certificate will not go to the polls this week.
Along with him was the PNTCD MEP Cristian Terheș, who presented several papers about which he said that there are contracts concluded with the companies that produce anti-COVID vaccine and that he would have received partially censored.
Terheș gave a virulent speech against the green certificate in Romania, saying that it is not the form discussed in Brussels.
- George Simion: We do not allow the plenum of the Chamber of Deputies to vote on a law that all deputies know is unconstitutional but do not want to say.
- I’m surprised that some say they bought Arbidol from an aunt in the market. In Parliament you have access to Arbidol if you know the members of AUR.
- But Mr. Cîțu does not allow people to be treated with drugs.
- The green certificate proposed in the unconstitutional form by USR will not go to the polls, although it will be a big quarrel.
- Those who felt compelled to make a forced choice can rest assured from this point of view. We have a lady lawyer who can’t come in because she doesn’t have a green certificate.
- Cristian Terheș: Remember the end of 2020. We have had countries in the EU where most of it comes from tourism.
- The problem that the whole of Europe faced: in one part the vaccines were already on the market, in part they were being tested, in part they were being cured.
- The question was how to create a uniform system to avoid quarantine. In this context, the European Commission comes in March and says: We need to vote on an emergency procedure to implement this European process so that everyone can move freely from one place to another.
- The question was how do we solve this situation? He came up with the idea of a regulation.
- The difference is that the directive must be transposed nationally. Once the regulation is adopted, it has direct applicability, they in the national parliaments have nothing to do, this is the situation of the regulations.
- I quote from the regulation: The purpose of this regulation is to facilitate the right to free movement within the EU during the pandemic.
- I said it conditions, they said it facilitates. I asked him where you would stop? What will happen next?
- The purpose of this certificate was to facilitate traffic. One of the principles is the principle of non-discrimination. The fact that this regulation facilitates freedom of movement means that those who do not have a certificate can travel, but will have to be subject to conditions.
- I don’t go with any tests when I go to Brussels. When I get there I tell myself that I have a few hours to take a test and I go and take a test.
- What is being prepared now for Romanians does not somehow violate the issue of non-discrimination. It has come to the point where if you do not have a green certificate, you are threatened with losing your job. You do not need a certificate to travel from one country to another.
- The EU did not vote for what they want in Romania. It goes beyond the limits set by the European Parliament.
- Ask parliamentarians if you have access to vaccination contracts. I asked, as a Member of the European Parliament, to make all my contracts available to me. I received an answer from the Ministry of Health: Romanian states must maintain the confidentiality of contracts, so I cannot give them to you.
- People are called to vote blind. So I voted in the EU, I voted against, in principle. In such an important matter, let’s get to the situation where the deputies from the decision-making chamber vote on a bill on contracts… On whose money were the vaccines voted? On Romanian money? Isn’t it normal to know?
- The battle is no longer between left and right or between PSD, PNL, AUR, but if we return to tyranny. You cannot vote knowingly without access to information.
- George Simion: We will ask the MEP to participate in the Health Committee of the Chamber of Deputies. We have set up a commission of inquiry into the pandemic acquisitions.
- And I will ask my colleagues from PNL and USR not to procrastinate because if we want transparency and for Romanians to go to a correct decision, Romanians must know the content of these contracts. We will not hesitate to use all legal means from the RCC to the Supreme Court.
- Romanians have a partner in us and that is why they resume: The green voting certificate will not go to the polls this week. Maybe over our bodies. But we are more and more and we unite.
