Betty Marion White Luddon, unlike who she will become later on, is not originally a California girl. She spends her first year in Oak Park, Illinois in the northeastern United States. However, when she was one year old, in 1923, she moved with her family to California in the western US. “My parents spoiled me, but they also taught me to appreciate it,” White said.
White started working as an actress at the age of eight when she appeared on a radio show. She works as a model and volunteered for the United States Army during World War II. In 1952 she starred in her first national sitcom with “Life with Elizabeth”. She was one of the first female producers in Hollywood.
