The essential points of updating the sanitary protocol in companies

The national protocol to ensure the health and safety of company employees in the face of the Covid-19 epidemic has been updated as part of the second phase of deconfinement which begins Wednesday, May 19. While the new version of the national company protocol does not modify the prescriptions issued in terms of teleworking, it recommends aeration, self-tests and vaccination.

  • Aeration and ventilation of the premises

The protocol indicates that the control of aeration / ventilation is an “essential measure” for the prevention of situations at risk of aerosolization of SARS-CoV-2. It is therefore necessary to ventilate the premises with natural or mechanical ventilation, ideally permanently, and at least 5 minutes every hour.

Companies can, if they wish, make available to their employees autotests in compliance with the rules of voluntary service and medical confidentiality, after informing the employee by a health professional.

If the test is positive, the employee isolates himself at his home and performs an RT-PCR test for confirmation.

The protocol encourages employees and employers to be vaccinated according to the strategy defined by the health authorities.

This vaccination can be carried out by the occupational health services. If the employee chooses to go through his occupational health service, he is authorized to be absent during working hours. He informs his employer of his absence for medical examination without having to specify the reason.

Employees in a situationlong-term exonerating condition benefit from a authorization of no right to be vaccinated.

In all other cases, apart from the occupational health service, there is no authorization for the absence of rights. The employee and the employer determine, through dialogue, the best possible organization.

  • Resumption of activity and return to business

The resumption of activity and the return to the company can be the subject of an awareness period for employees. Particular attention is paid to newcomers and young workers so that they take ownership of the prevention measures.

These preventive measures are implemented by companies within the framework of internal social dialogue.
