The ESRB rating for Lollipop Chainsaw Repop emphasizes violence and sexual content

The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has released its rating review for the upcoming Lollipop Chainsaw Repop, shedding light on the level of violence, sexual content and strong language players can expect from this remaster. The game, which will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series, has reached maturity due to its graphic content and mature themes.

Lollipop Chainsaw Repop puts players in the shoes of Juliet Starling, a cheerleader who takes on the role of a zombie hunter as she tries to find the cause of a widespread zombie outbreak. Gameplay features frantic hand-to-hand combat in which players use chainsaws, explosive rounds, and perform special attacks such as imitating cheerleaders and destroying zombies with chops . Combat is characterized by exaggerated blood splatter, frequent movements and decapitations, often enhanced by slow motion effects and camera close-ups, adding to the over-the-top violence of the game.

The ESRB rating summary also notes that the game’s cutscenes are just as intense. These include scenes where a zombie boss shoots himself in the head, characters being cut in half with a chainsaw, and a slow motion sequence where Juliet hits a severed head. These graphics complement the game’s content descriptions of Blood and Gore and brutal violence.

In addition to its violent content, Lollipop Chainsaw Repop is full of sexual themes and crude humor. There are several obvious jokes and references in the dialogue, such as one character referring to “sex through the back door with more than three hundred sailors“, although another man regrets participating in explicit videos. The game does not shy away from profanity, for example, in the conversation there are words like “f ** k”, ” sh*t” and “c*cksucker”.

In addition, the game mentions the use of drugs in various scenes, referring to “eight feet of cocaine” and characters defined as “idiots using psilocybin“These drug references, along with sexual and racist content, add to the maturity level of the game, ensuring it is for an adult audience.
