LIVE LIVE OF TODAY’S STAGE OF PARIS-NICE
12.52 Meanwhile, the platoon is not yet ‘damning its soul’ to chase the escape, always remaining around four minutes.
12.50 The fugitives are about to arrive at the foot of the Mombarocco climb.
12.47 We are close to two hours of racing, the French Benoit Cosnefroy (AG2R Citroen), the Austrian Marco Haller (Bora-Hansgrohe), the Italians Davide Bais (Eolo-Kometa) and Alexander Konychev (Team BikeExchange-Jayco), the Spanish Alex Aranburu and Lluis Mas (Movistar), the world champion Julian Alaphilippe, the Danish Mikkel Honorè (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl) and the American Quinn Simmons (Trek-Segafredo) have a 4’03 “margin on the main group led by the UAE Team Emirates.
12.44 On the ascent of Mombarocco, let’s expect skirmishes between Quinn Simmons (Trek-Segafredo) and Davide Bais (Eolo-Kometa) for the GPM classification.
12.41 The Ineos-Grenadiers are also contributing as a group to mend the rift with the fugitives.
12.37 In a few kilometers the climb starts again: there is Mombarocco, 4800 meters at 3.4% of average gradient.
12.33 After the Cartocceto gap: the group recovered about thirty seconds on the French Benoit Cosnefroy (AG2R Citroen), the Austrian Marco Haller (Bora-Hansgrohe), Italians Davide Bais (Eolo-Kometa) and Alexander Konychev (Team BikeExchange- Jayco), the Spaniards Alex Aranburu and Lluis Mas (Movistar), the world champion Julian Alaphilippe, the Danish Mikkel Honorè (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl) and the American Quinn Simmons (Trek-Segafredo), now 3’53 “away.
12.29 Group that is starting to warm up the engines: at Mombarocco we will begin to understand a bit the values on the field.
12.27 With a margin of 4’20 “, UAE Team Emirates is now in the lead to shoot to defend Tadej Pogacar’s leader jersey.
12.23 Running up to now 65 kilometers.
12.20 Now the race is in a slightly uphill stretch. In about twenty kilometers you go to Mombarocco.
12.18 Quite interesting composition of the escape, since there are two Quick-Step men, two Movistars and one Trek-Segafredo: they could prove to be important pawns for the final for their captains Remco Evenepoel, Enric Mas and Giulio Ciccone.
12.15 The advantage of the French Benoit Cosnefroy (AG2R Citroen) continues to rise, the Austrian Marco Haller (Bora-Hansgrohe), the Italians Davide Bais (Eolo-Kometa) and Alexander Konychev (Team BikeExchange-Jayco), the Spaniards Alex Aranburu and Lluis Mas (Movistar), the world champion Julian Alaphilippe, the Danish Mikkel Honorè (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl) and the American Quinn Simmons (Trek-Segafredo). Now they have a 4’04 ”margin on the group.
12.11 The stretch of constant descent ends in about ten kilometers. Path a bit ‘rough, then there will be the Mombarocco, the first real climb of the day.
12.09 Now the margin of the first nine is 3’14 ”: Aranburu is the virtual leader of the race.
12.07 The most dangerous in the general classification is Alex Aranburu of Movistar, twenty-sixth at 2’33 “from Tadej Pogacar.
12.04 The platoon pulled the oars in the boat, now recorded at 2’28 “from the leading nine.
12.02 First hour at very high pace: average 46.6 km / h, also thanks to the slightly downhill asphalt.
11.58 After almost an hour of racing, the French Benoit Cosnefroy (AG2R Citroen), the Austrian Marco Haller (Bora-Hansgrohe), Italians Davide Bais (Eolo-Kometa) and Alexander Konychev (Team BikeExchange-Jayco) are on the run, the Spaniards Alex Aranburu and Lluis Mas (Movistar), the world champion Julian Alaphilippe, the Danish Mikkel Honorè (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl) and the American Quinn Simmons (Trek-Segafredo). For them 1’42 ”ahead of the main group, while Lewis Craddock (Team BikeExchange-Jayco) no longer has a chance to resume the breakaway.
11.53 The platoon has risen, going to 1’05 “from the treads, while Craddock is halfway: difficult for him to get into the escape.
11.52 This is due to the fact that Trek-Segafredo has succeeded in its intent to send Quinn Simmons on the run, allowing the American to defend himself from Davide Bais in the fight for the GPM classification.
11.50 It must be said, however, that the platoon calmed down slightly, slipping to 44 ”from the leading group.
11.48 There continue to be riots in the group: the American Lawson Craddock (Team BikeExchange-Jayco) is trying to get back on the escape.
11.47 To be added to the first four are the Spaniards Alex Aranburu and Lluis Mas (Movistar), the world champion Julian Alaphilippe, the Danish Mikkel Honorè (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl) and the American Quinn Simmons (Trek-Segafredo).
11.42 For the leading squad about twenty seconds ahead.
11.41 Meanwhile, five have returned to the French Benoit Cosnefroy (AG2R Citroen), the Austrian Marco Haller (Bora-Hansgrohe) and the Italians Davide Bais (Eolo-Kometa) and Alexander Konychev (Team BikeExchange-Jayco).
11.40 Jhonatan Narvaez (Ineos-Grenadiers) crashed and even retired from the race.
11.37 Attention, fall in a group on this downhill stretch.
11.34 Ten try to get back on the run, but the group says no in no uncertain terms.
11.32 Trek-Segafredo is finding some collaboration in Israel-Premier Tech and Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl, with the world champion Julian Alaphilippe shooting in first person: the lead of the top four quickly dropped to 20 “.
11.30 The US team does not agree with the escape: ahead is Bais, second in the climbers ranking, who could undermine the leadership of Quinn Simmons.
11.29 There is acceleration in the group now: after touching the margin of one minute, the Trek-Segafredo took the lead in shooting.
11.25 The escape seems to have had the ‘blessing’ from the main group: the closest in the standings is Cosnefroy at 11’47 “from Tadej Pogacar.
11.22 The four are managing to gain some ground: their advantage is 45 “.
11.19 Four forward: the French Benoit Cosnefroy (AG2R Citroen), the Austrian Marco Haller (Bora-Hansgrohe) and the Italians Davide Bais (Eolo-Kometa) and Alexander Konychev (Team BikeExchange-Jayco). But the group is hot on their heels.
11.16 Six of them have taken a few meters ahead, but the group does not seem willing to give them the pass yet.
11.14 I have already run 13 kilometers.
11.11 Attempts to accelerate by those who attempt to flee continue. But for now, nothing to do.
11.08 This first phase of the race is all slightly downhill; after 25 kilometers a first little climb that shouldn’t create too many headaches for the group.
11.04 For now, however, the group reacts at a good pace, not allowing space.
11.01 The first shots arrive immediately to try to take away the day’s escape.
11.00 There are two retirements: the French Thibault Guernalec and the British Daniel Mclay, both of Arkea-Samsic, are not in the group.
10.57 The sixth stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico 2022 officially kicks off!
10.52 The neutralized stretch of 2400 meters begins.
10.50 The group is now lined up in view of the transfer kilometers.
10.49 Let’s get ready to see a Remco Evenepoel arrembante in the last kilometers of the race: his chances of ousting Tadej Pogacar from the throne of the Race of the two seas pass from here.
10.46 Soon the group will set off towards kilometer zero.
10.43 Today’s first part which includes a phase of 70 kilometers all tending towards the descent, apart from a couple of trotters where the day’s breakaway could take hold.
10.40 Today’s stage will be the last to draw the ranking: tomorrow there will in fact be a stage dedicated to sprinters.
