Due to the advancing epidemic, hygiene stations are also getting into trouble again. In the Karlovy Vary region, eight local firefighters will be involved in the tracing. Hygienists expect an increase in new infections. From next week, over forty firefighters will also help hygienists in Prague.
Vaccination or illness as a ticket?
The government will discuss any further measures due to the deteriorating epidemic situation at the end of the week. “Covid is getting worse. I asked the Minister and there is no proposal on the table yet. There are some proposals that have not yet been approved by the clinical group, so they need to agree there, “said Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (YES).
“The debate is really about the fact that mass events could be limited to people who are vaccinated or within six months after illness,” outlined Martina Koziar Vašáková, Deputy Minister of Health and Head of the Clinical Group.
According to the information of the Czech Television, there is also a discussion about the recognition of tests – with the proviso that if the number of participants exceeds a thousand, they will be able to prove themselves only by PCR examination. The cabinet will discuss it on Friday. “We can imagine that these conditions will be met for the sports environment, and we are glad that in this first phase we are not approaching any closure of sports venues or spectators,” commented Filip Neusser, Chairman of the National Sports Agency.

The Ministry of Health will first discuss with the expert team of the next possible cabinet on Thursday the form of the measure that would subsequently recommend to the government.
The ministry previously cited a weekly incidence of over 75 per hundred thousand inhabitants and at the same time more than fifty patients admitted to hospitals daily as criteria for limiting mass events. Both of these indicators are now several times higher.
Interest in the vaccine is growing
According to the Ministry of Health, however, the situation is different from last year due to vaccination coverage. Interest in vaccinations is rising again after a previous slump. In the last day, 39,000 people came for the vaccine – a third of them for the first time.
Increased interest is already reflected in the functioning of surgeries. “Because of this, I decided to employ another part-time doctor in the last week and also a nurse to help with vaccinations,” said Ludmila Bezdíčková, a general practitioner from Prague.
